In one of the largest area undertakings in the fine arts, a collection of almost 200 musicians of the Akron Symphony Orchestra along with the Akron Symphony Chorus will combine with 24 adult and student dancers directed by GroundWorks Dance Theatre’s founder and artistic director, David Shimotakahara to present Carl Orff’s celebrated work of fate and chance, “Carmina burana.” The performance will take place at EJ Thomas Hall at the University of Akron on May 7, 2016 at 8 p.m. The performance will include new choreography along with highly technical lighting that will be used to create a projected set.
