Project Description

Dianne McIntyre is a Cleveland native and has choreographed works for film, television, Broadway stage and London the-ater, as well as the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and Cleo Parker Rob-inson Dance Ensemble. Her work appears in the feature film, Beloved and award-winning movie Miss Evers’ Boys for which she received an Emmy nomination. McIntyre earned her BFA from The Ohio State University, moved to New York in 1970 and founded “Dance in Motion,” a collaborative dance/music ensemble. McIntyre has collaborated with legendary musicians Olu Dara, Butch Morris, Lester Bowie and countless others. She has won numerous dance awards and grants, including an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts Degree in 2009 from the SUNY Purchase College, and the American Dance Festival 2008 Bal-asaraswati/Joy Ann Dewey Beinecke Endowed Chair for Distinguished Teach-ing.
