GroundWorks DanceTheater to Offer Varied Program for Varied Appetites

By Kerry Clawson

When GroundWorks DanceTheater’s David Shimotakahara puts together a program, he wants audiences to go away well-fed.

“It’s like having a full-course meal, that they leave really satisfied and rewarded in the experience,” said the Artistic Director, whose company is presenting its 2016 Fall Dance Series Friday and Saturday at the Akron-Summit County Main Library.

The evening will showcase GroundWorks’ strong ties to choreographers in the Midwest/Great Lakes region, including the Akron premiere of Chicago choreographer Robyn Mineko WilliamsPart Way, the reprise of Pittsburgh choreographer Beth Corning’s At Once There Was a House and Shimotakahara’s Akron premiere of Chromatic.
