This week we would like to introduce you to our first celebrity dancer for IT TAKES TWO! 2020! Charna E. Sherman, Esq. is the Board President of Cuyahoga Arts and Culture (CAC), one of the largest local public funders for arts and culture in the nation.
During her day (sometimes night) job, Charna is a fierce legal advocate. She relinquished her partnership stake in an AmLaw 100 law firm over nine years ago to start her litigation boutique, which specializes in complex commercial litigation. A Fortune 5 General Counsel once described her win over a significant adversary as their having been “Charna’ed.” She is also a nationally recognized thought leader on diversity in the legal profession.
Charna is a proud supporter of the arts, including GroundWorks, and frequently travels to feast on whatever artists and shows she can find. She also plays paddle tennis regularly and likes to “fight the patriarchy with vigilance!!” When you don’t see her attending an arts event or fighting the patriarchy, you are sure to find her at On the Rise Bakery. She power walks several miles every day so she can delight daily in one of their Sticky Buns (or as she describes them, “One of the country’s great carbohydrates!)!
When asked why she decided to dance in the benefit this year, she said, “A midlife (senior) moment?! What was I thinking?!?!?!” The last time she “danced” on a stage was when she was six years old, so she is counting on her partner dancing exceptionally well. We cannot wait to see how fabulous Charna and her partner, Spencer, are going to be at It Takes Two! 2020 on April 25!
