What started in 2008 as a unique take on the traditional benefit, has morphed into a not-to-be-missed Cleveland tradition. GroundWorks’ annual gala is more than a fundraiser: It Takes Two thoughtfully engages the community – dance enthusiasts and soon-to-be dance enthusiasts alike – all while promising to be the best dance party of the year!
For eleven years, It Takes Two has shared GroundWorks’ impact on the community. In addition to creating an unparalleled night of dance in Cleveland, the event’s proceeds support GroundWorks’ year round activities serving communities throughout Northeast Ohio.
The structure of the event takes inspiration from the hit TV show “Dancing with the Stars,” pairing local Cleveland “celebrities” from the business and nonprofit worlds with Groundworks’ company dancers. The judges are the audience – made up of gala attendees – with voting taking place in the form of dollars raised by each pair.
